An Evening with Bernard Goldberg

July 26, 2010

The Watauga County Republican Party is pleased to present “An Evening with Bernard Goldberg” on Friday, August 13, at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.

“Bernie” is a best-selling author of books such as “Bias,” and “A Slobbering Love Affair,” both revealing the bias in much of today’s media. He has won Emmy’s for his work as a reporter for both CBS and HBO. He has become a familiar face to us as an analyst for Fox News and as a weekly guest on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

There will be a book signing and silent auction at 5:00 PM(bring your favorite Goldberg book). Seating for dinner will begin at 6:15 PM. The event is $100 per person. Seating is limited, so contact me if you would like to attend! You will not want to miss this very special event.

Jeff Elmore to run for NC Senate

January 18, 2010

North Wilkesboro Commissioner Jeff Elmore has annouced his intent to run for the NC Senate seat currently occupied by Sen. Steve Goss (D-Watauga).  The seat was formerally held by John Garwood another Wilkes County native, and also a former Commissioner.  Elmore joins Dan Soucek who annouced back in 2009 his intent to run for the seat.  Soucek ran unsuccessfully for NC House against Cullie Tarelton in 2008.

On another note, Jonathan Jordan (R-Ashe) appears to be unopposed in his run for NC House against incumbent Cullie Tarleton (D-Watauga).

Principles Matter.

Watauga Chairman

Reality is that the Republican Party in Watauga County and across the United States has suffered some set backs in recent elections. Some in our party lost their way and have paid the price at the ballot box. Others were victims of the tsunami caused by the Obama campaign. These set backs have led some in our party to question the direction of the party.

This weekend I attended the North Carolina Republican Convention in Raleigh along with 12 other delegates from Watauga County. The race to become NCGOP Chairman had become a heated one and the convention center was packed with passionate Republicans from across the state. While I do not like to see negative campaigns within the party, it was exciting to see the enthusiasm with those in attendance.

Goss & Tarleton tell you what to do…and where to do it.

March 3, 2009

Listen to Me!

Senator Steve Goss and Representative Cullie Tarleton know (or think they do) what’s best for you.  The two legislators have decided to tell Small Business Owners that they can’t smoke in their establishments.  Regardless of personal freedom, these two continue to destory the rights of small business owners.  Email these guys and tell them now is not the time to keep hurting small business.  Steve.Goss@ncleg.net & Cullie.Tarleton@ncleg.net
