Only two members of my (non-partisian) group were able to show up. It was fantastic. News14 reported that it was a "conservative" group of protestors but yet they showed the Republican elephant. Of course, I called and voice my complaints. Also, I am getting more and more aggitated with the news media even the ones that claim they are "fair" in their reporting to show only "white" people when there are people of all colors, ethnic backgrounds, and economic backgrounds. For example. C. Weaver Mason spoke at this event and he is more conservative then I am and yes that wonderful chasmatic man who is running for congress is african-american. We walked with a couple from Korea who not only located to the United States recently but are now "legal" citizen of this great nation. More and more people of color and ethnic backgrounds are joining the movement. We were at the Michelle Bachman event a couple weeks ago and though whites did out number other races we noticed a growing number of Americans from every political offiliation and color were highly represented. I am 1/4 native american so I do consider myself of a diverse ethnic background then just euro-american. I want to say that we as participants of these events need to contact news agencies and demand that they report these Tea Parties and rallies correctly or we will start protesting them.

By telephone? Is she afraid to face her constituency? Does she think that there are mobs, hudlums and Un-Americans in her district? Really? Is that what she thinks of you?

At no time was the word "fringe" used by anyone at any time at this meeting. Conservative was the operative word and progressive was never spoken either. Not only is your source misinformed, it is impossible for the source to have ever even been inside the county line, because "fringe" and "progressive" have never been said at any GOP meeting.

I wonder where he found those votes, and how they "magically" appeared. I guess it pays to control the vote counting system in Surry County.

As Mr Goss is my state Senator I can attest to the fact that "He has never had an original thought"
the man also has now powers of observation, as he one came up to me during the campaign season and introduced himself to me, I pointed out that I was wearing a elephant sweater, a GOP pin and a ribbon with every republican candidate in the state attached to it. He said "that's OK, did I tell you I'm a baptist minister?" I replied "well that must be different from a preacher". I could tell by his expression that went right over his head. I would imagine that Mr Goss had a personal motivation for said internet slander bill

Dear Blah Blah,

If you had read the text of the Appalachian Mountain Preservation Act, you would know that in this legislation there is no place where it is stated that North Carolina can no longer buy coal from West Virginia. It simply states that North Carolina could not burn the coal mined using the mountaintop removal method of coal mining. For your information, just over 40% of the coal mined in West Virginia comes from mountaintop removal sites.

By the way, for all of you who care about the facts - the Appalachian Mountain Preservation Act would result in a rate hike of 47 cents per month for NC rate payers.

I love living in the Appalachian Mountains, and don't want to see them turned into the Appalachian Flats.

I would say that the people of West Virginia aren't in a total uproar over this or Sen. Byrd would have stopped it a long time ago. He is still the ancient senile King of WV, right? Sounds to me like Goss is just another ultra-eco-liberal who wants to legislate across state lines.

Of course these eco-nuts would have you believe that its either their "pragmatic" manner or be evil. If this bill was so popular why is being introduced again? Must be that democrat greed in Raleigh, eh?

Good post NC05, keep letting people know what Goss is really up to.
